Supporting policies and programmes for enhanced NDC implementation & LTS
With the technical support provided by the National Technical Institution (NTI), the project aims to develop a comprehensive portfolio of policies and programs in the thematic areas of Agroforestry, Solar irrigation and solar dryers Investments. The primary objective is to ensure that relevant stakeholders possess the necessary knowledge regarding these policies and programs to attract diverse investments. This, in turn, will drive the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in both adaptation and mitigation within the prioritized thematic areas. The successful execution of this project serves as the foundation of the country's Long-Term Strategy (LTS), which has been communicated to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
During the course of these analytical studies, the NTI is responsible for identifying pertinent policies that promote investments in the priority areas. Furthermore, the NTI expected to assess existing programs and identify any policy conflicts or barriers. To address these issues, multi-stakeholder engagements will be conducted to foster agreements and develop potential solutions.
Another crucial aspect of the project is conducting a gap analysis of the existing sectoral policies, programs, and legislative instruments that have been prioritized for increased mitigation and adaptation actions.
Additionally, the project will undertake gender impact assessments and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) benefit analyses for the implementation of NDCs. These analyses will ensure that the gender perspective is taken into account and that the project aligns with the objectives outlined in the SDGs.
