E-deleGATE

In July 2024, UNEP started the transition of the current e-mailing system towards e-deleGATE.

Anyone wishing to continue receiving emails from the UNEP Secretariat of Governing Bodies after the 30 September will need to have an e-deleGATE account.

If you do not have an e-deleGATE account yet, please contact your e-deleGATE administrator in your mission, organization or Ministry and they will create an account for you so you can continue to receive our CRP and UNEA related correspondence after 30 September 2024.

Frequently asked questions

Who can have access to e-deleGATE? Access to e-deleGATE is for Member States, observer States, IGOs, MEAs and UN system entities only. Major groups and Stakeholders do not have access to e-deleGATE at the moment and will therefore continue receiving emails from the Secretariat as before.

How do I login? To login, go to https://edelegate.un.int/, choose "for Delegate" and enter your username (email address) and password. UN staff should select “UN Staff Azure AD”

I have forgotten my password. What should I do? If you have forgotten your password, please go to https://edelegate.un.int/, choose "for Delegate" and use the "Forgot Password?" option available. Input the email account you used to sign in to e-deleGATE and check your inbox for an email from missions-support@un.int with a password recovery code. [please check your junk/spam folder]

I am not sure I have an account. What should I do? You can try to retrieve your password as explained in the section “I have forgotten my password. What should I do?” If you do not receive an email with a code to reset your password, it means you don’t have an account yet and you need to contact your admin in your mission or Ministry to request for an account.

What should I do if I don’t have an account? If you don't have an account, please get in touch with the e-deleGATE administrators for your mission or Ministry. If you don’t know who your administrators are, please contact us.

I have an e-deleGATE account but don’t need it anymore. Can I delete my account? If you want to delete your e-deleGATE account, please contact your e-deleGATE administrators. Only your administrator can delete your account.

I used to be the administrator for my mission/organisation. How can I give this role to someone else? Please create an account for the person replacing you and give them admins rights. Once their account is created, they can login and delete your account if you don’t need it anymore.

I am an administrator, but I can’t remember what to do. Where can I find information about how to create an account? The UNEP Secretariat has prepared the following to help you:

Can I choose which emails I want to receive from the UNEP Secretariat? The emails you will receive will depend on which module(s) your administrator will give you access to. If you are part of a CPR accredited mission, you can have access to:

  • The United Nations Environment Assembly module: select this option to receive emails from the UNEP Secretariat about matters related to UNEA
  • The Committee of Permanent Representatives module: select this option to receive emails from the UNEP Secretariat about matters related to the CPR

If you are not accredited to the CPR you can only have access to the United Nations Environment Assembly module.

What happens if I don't have an e-deleGATE account after the 30 September 2024? If you don't have an e-deleGATE account, you will no longer receive emails from the UNEP Secretariat after the 30 September 2024.

Organization of work

The guidance on the organization of work for the Committee of Permanent Representatives contains consensual conclusions, such as working timelines and arrangements, pertaining to paragraph 41 (j) of the Chair’s Summary of the 9th annual subcommittee meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives, which took place from 24 to 28 October 2022. It was endorsed by the CPR as its resumed 162nd meeting, held on 31 October 2023.

Communications

Based on established practice, the UNEP Secretary will no longer circulate individual communications, including formal letters and Notes Verbales from Member States, non-Member States, the European Union as well as other intergovernmental organizations to the members of the CPR and the environmental focal points, with the exception of the following:

  • Communications from the President/Chair of an intergovernmental body for which UNEP serves as the Secretariat.
  • Subject to a decision by the Secretariat, invitations to UNEP-relevant meetings, side events and receptions. Furthermore, delegates are also invited to use the United Nations Journal at Nairobi to inform Member States and Stakeholders of such meetings/events.

The UNEP Secretariat will continue to make available relevant and timely information from the Executive Director and Division Directors on issues related to UNEP, UNEA, the CPR, Multilateral Environmental Agreements, or other intergovernmental processes.
