The Coordinating Unit acts as Secretariat for the MAP—Barcelona Convention system. It organizes the Conferences of Plenipotentiaries, Meetings of the Contracting Parties (COP), Meetings of the Bureau of the Contracting Parties, Meetings of MAP Focal Points, Meetings of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD) and Meetings of the MCSD Steering Committee, MED POL Meetings, Compliance Committee Meetings and Meetings of ad hoc Working Groups mandated by the Contracting Parties to address specific matters.
Official documents and records pertaining to meetings organized by the Secretariat and the MAP Regional Activity Centres (RACs) since 1975 are accessible through the MAP document repository.
