For making leaders of millions with the facts and tactics to win hearts and minds.
Al Gore has shown us that climate leadership is climate communication leadership. He has exploited to their zenith platforms such as film and politics to advocate for climate change. His gifts as a communicator have brought people together from all dimensions of society and across multiple countries of the world to work towards solving one of the world’s pertinent problems.
His organisation, Climate Reality, has become one of the leading advocates and actors on issues of climate change and through his efforts to cascade climate leadership skills, millions are not just joining forces to tackle climate crisis but are doing so armed with facts and tactics to win hearts and minds. I believe that this dispersed thought leadership will mean these messages will reach far further around the whole world, raising knowledge and the ability to defend the solutions as informed citizens the world over far better than any single leader could individually achieve.
Al Gore will remain an inspiration to me and many young people and I hope to work with his organisation to extend the impact of his vision through partnerships to Africa.
