The Prevention of Marine Litter in the Caribbean Sea (PROMAR) Inception Workshop will convene 14th February - 17th February 2023. PROMAR is financed by the Government of Germany through the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and is managed through a partnership between German NGO adelphi as Lead Implementer and the UNEP Cartagena Convention Secretariat at Implementing Partner.

Day 1 will consist of presentations and discussions at the office of the United Nations Environment Programme Cartagena Convention Secretariat, located at 14-20 Port Royal Street, Kingston. The Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute and the Cartagena Convention Secretariat are co-hosts of the Caribbean Node of the Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML-Caribe). The 75th Annual Meeting of the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI 75) will be held in Fort Walton Beach, FL from 7th – 11th November 2022 at The Island Hotel. The soft launch of the compendium was held virtually in June 2022. The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in collaboration with our Global Environment Facility-funded (GEF) CReW+ project is organising workshops for young persons and the media on Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM). The workshops will commence on 20th September 2022 and are open to Caribbean youths and journalists residing in GWP-C partner countries or Caribbean GEF CReW+ countries.
