Ghassem Ashrar from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory organized a plenary session on environmental data and assessments at the annual Pecora Symposium in Baltimore (Oct. 7-11 2019). The Symposium mainly focuses on advances in remote sensing and geospatial data for monitoring the environment. The GEO-6 findings were presented along with other findings of the U.S. National Climate Assessment and other geospatial monitoring data programs. All presentations notes the challenging state that the environment is in and the need for transformational change to address these issues.
