Africa Major groups and Stakeholders held a post UNEA-6 online webinar on 30 April 2024. The webinar held under the theme: Charting the Path Forward: an African Perspective Towards Implementing the Resolutions of the UNEA-6.
The meeting that was co-organized by the UNEA-6 presidency, the Hassan II international center for environmental training, UNEP and Africa Major groups and Stakeholders, saw 222 registered and 117 unique viewers from UNEP accredited and non-accredited civils society organizations across the region joining the call.
The webinar came on the backdrop of UNEA-6 outcomes, with the adoption of 15 resolutions, two decisions and a Ministerial Declaration, therefore calling for translation of these decisions into actionable strategies and tangible outcomes.
The webinar sought to provide a platform for a comprehensive analysis, strategic dialogue, and collaborative engagement aimed at advancing the implementation of UNEA resolutions by bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders, including policymakers, experts, practitioners, and aimed to catalyze meaningful progress towards the achievement of global environmental goals.
The objective of the webinar was to raise awareness about integrating environmental preservation into broader actions, particularly emphasizing the outcomes and resolutions of UNEA-6, to foster effective environmental stewardship at individual and organizational levels within UNEP MGS, Africa.
