This is an official side event of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28).

Nepal is one of the countries most affected by climate change. Since 2010 the government has been engaged in adaptation planning including the development of a National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) in 2010, preparation of Local Adaptation Plans for Action (LAPAs) in 2012 and the launching of Nepal’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process in 2015.

The objectives of this side event include:

  • Sharing key insights, experiences, and lessons learned from the development and implementation of National Adaptation Plans in various countries, with a specific focus on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by nations like Nepal.
  • Showcasing successful case studies and best practices from countries that have effectively implemented NAPs, emphasizing innovative approaches and strategies that have proven successful in building climate resilience.
