• Overview

Presenting to you the Risk Reduction Hub Side Event ‘Working With Nature for Resilience’, held in connection with the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the Medium Term Review (HLM MTR SF) of the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The event takes place on 19 May from 08:15 AM to 09:45 AM EST and will be live-streamed on webtv.un.org.

This panel event is organized by UNDRR in collaboration with UNEP and the Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR). The event will highlight the critical role of nature and the environment for disaster risk reduction and climate resilience and outline ways in which Nature-based Solutions can advance implementation of the Sendai Framework and related resilience agendas, including the SDGs, UNFCCC, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, among others.

 

 

The panel will see Member States and stakeholder represents outline how they are tackling policy, governance and financial barriers to scaling up Nature-based Solutions for resilience. The event is organized in two segments with the following speakers:
