The Core Human Rights Principles for Private Conservation Organizations and Funders were developed through extensive consultations and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders committed to advancing human rights and environmental conservation. The principles address the critical need to align conservation initiatives with human rights obligations.

Objectives

  • Present the Core Human Rights Principles for Private Conservation Organizations and Funders. 
  • Foster dialogue among stakeholders on implementation pathways and next steps. 
  • Build partnerships to ensure conservation efforts uphold equity, sustainability, and justice. 

The launch event will be cordinated in two webinars in EST and UTC timezones aimed at diverse stakeholders committed to advancing human rights and conservation. These include private conservation organizations, funders, UN agencies, Member States, human rights and environmental experts, civil society organizations and rights holders.
