The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the Quadripartite (FAO, UNEP, WHO, WOAH) and key partners, is implementing the One Health Knowledge Nexus (OHKN) project to strengthen One Health collaboration across sectors for engagement, knowledge exchange, learning, and dissemination to support the further advancement of One Health. As part of this initiative, and thanks to the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the Quadripartite One Health Governance Community of Practice (CoP) is being launched to support institutionalization of the OH approach at all levels.  The CoP will serve as a platform for policymakers, experts, practitioners and other stakeholders to share experiences, discuss governance challenges, and co-develop solutions for enhancing One Health governance frameworks and policies.

This effort aligns with the Quadripartite One Health Joint Plan of Action and its implementation guide, which emphasizes the critical need for strong governance mechanisms to enhance institutional and legal frameworks, strengthen multisectoral coordination, and improve policy coherence.

Objectives of the Webinar launch event

  1. Briefly present the One Health Knowledge Nexus project
  2. Introduce the One Health Governance CoP and highlight its purpose and objectives

  4. Preview of ambition for the first year's activities of the CoP, including experts' forums, working groups, governance assessment tools, and capacity-building initiatives.
  5. Invite stakeholders to join and actively contribute to the CoP.
