Hosted by United Nations Environment Programme together with WRAP and P4G Partnerships, this online event builds on UNEP’s Food Waste Index Report, which showed that food waste is a global issue, significant in nearly every country that has measured it. This event is aimed to support countries in accessing international finance to deliver strategies to halve food waste by 2030.
This virtual event will be of interest to Ministries involved in Regional Food Waste Working Groups and representatives from other governments, with a particular focus on low and middle-income countries.
It is also relevant for NGOs and Trusts and Foundations with an interest in food security and food poverty and food and drink businesses looking to decarbonise their supply chains to achieve Net Zero, and halve food waste to deliver Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.
This event will help you to understand the scale and challenge in funding food waste initiatives, the current barriers to investing and the business case benefits of financial investment in food waste prevention.
This event is for you if you’re interested in delivering sustainable food systems, food security and climate change mitigation by addressing the food waste funding gap.
