What: What are Green Jobs? A 4-Saturday Series is an event jointly organised by UNICEF India, UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Development Programme (UNDP), and Purpose (Social Impact Agency). The event series will introduce students (16 - 22 year-olds), teachers, and parents to the less explored field of environment and climate-related jobs. The event will:
(a) build participants’ knowledge around green economy, green careers, and green courses with experts from UN Environment Programme and TERI
(b) introduce participants to established environmental professionals from various fields –private, public, academic – who will share their journeys with the participants
(c) conduct skill-building activities to help participants with critical tips to work towards their dream green jobs
When: 4 Saturdays |14, 21, 28 August, and 4 September 2021 | 15:00 - 17:00
- Saturday 1, 14 August 2021: Introduction to Green Economy, meeting professionals working in – forestry, marine biology, water and sanitation, climate and environmental experts
- Saturday 2, 21 August 2021: Types of green careers and green courses, meeting corporate professionals creating 'Green Impact' – renewable energy, green transportation and buildings
- Saturday 3, 28 August 2021: Meeting environmental advocates like journalists, artists, activists, policy makers, and other green professionals with unique career paths
- Saturday 4, 4th September 2021: Learning about environmental internship opportunities, meeting inspiring eco-entrepreneurs and mentors
