The press conference officially announced the end of the use of leaded petrol worldwide, following the exhaustion of Algeria’s last stocks in July 2021. Journalists were invited to a press briefing on the details of this historical milestone for human health and environmental protection, as well as to present their questions.
This virtual media event included representatives from key members of the public-private Partnership for Clean Fuels and Vehicles (PCFV) that has been hosted by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) since 2002, including governments, the oil industry, and civil society.
