The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 10 February as the International Day of the Arabian Leopard in resolution 77/295. This observance will be celebrated for the first time at UN Headquarters in New York on February 12. Co-organized by the United Nations Environment Programme and the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, the event will raise awareness about the critically endangered status of the Arabian Leopard, detail existing habitat conservation efforts, and celebrate success stories.
