This flagship event is part of the International Day of Zero Waste 2025 celebrations.
International Day of Zero Waste, established by the UNGA in 2022, promotes zero-waste initiatives to advance sustainable development. Facilitated by UNEP and UN-Habitat, this annual observance raises awareness of responsible consumption and waste reduction.
This year’s theme, Fashion and Textile Waste, highlights the sector’s environmental and social impact. The textile industry is a major contributor to pollution, waste, and emissions. Addressing these challenges requires sustainable solutions such as circular design, extended producer responsibility, and waste reduction strategies.
