Description:
Ambitious policies could reduce urban passenger transport CO2 emissions by over two thirds below 2015 levels in Asia by 2050 and help ensure the mutual implementation of global climate obiectives and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This session will focus on sustainable urban transport policy solutions, emphasizing priorities that encourage modal shift and improve energy efficiency, and that meet the goals of the Paris Agreement and are aligned with the Breakthrough Agenda. By bringing concrete examples of transformation on the ground, including accelerating e-mobility in public transport, two- and three-wheelers and non-motorized transport, and just, affordable, accessible and decarbonised transport systems, the event will stimulate conversation and engage the audience in identifying forward looking solutions.
