The Annual Meeting of the United Nations Association (UNA-USA) of Westchester will be convened on 7 May 2023 from 3 to 4:30 pm on the topic, “The Human Right to a Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment: What Does it Mean for You and Your Family?".  The meeting, co-sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and Zeta Nu Omega Chapter, will include a keynote presentation from UNEP on the topic of the human right to a healthy environment. In addition, a panel of outstanding local youth activists, moderated by Paul Presendieu, UNA-USA Global Ambassador for Climate Action (Sustainable Development Goal #13), will highlight their work on access to healthcare and environmental services, insect guardianship, and sustainable solutions to environmental crises.

The Westchester County chapter of the United Nations Association of USA is one of the oldest chapters of UNA-USA, founded by Eleanor Roosevelt and others in the early 1950s. Over the years, it has grown to encompass over 800 local members and has hosted events across Westchester, bringing top government and UN officials to engage with local citizens. The Chapter became a program of the United Nations Foundation in 2011.
