Join us for the launch of Marine Protected Area Tool Hub (MPAth), an innovative platform designed to bring empowerment, knowledge, and equitable access to practitioners and local stakeholders involved in marine protected area (MPA) design and management. MPAth provides a comprehensive suite of tools, resources, and opportunities to enhance MPA development and performance, thanks to funding from the Government of Italy and additional support from private sector partners like Mary Kay Inc.

Speakers

  • Dr. Elizabeth McLeod: Marine Science and Conservation Expert, known for her extensive work in climate resilience and coral reef conservation. Dr. McLeod has contributed significantly to marine conservation initiatives globally.
  • Tundi Agardy: Renowned environmental advocate and marine biologist, recognized for her pioneering work in marine protected areas and sustainable use of marine resources. Tundi has advised numerous international organizations on marine conservation strategies.
  • Xaquin Veira: Co-founder/President at ViT Foundation, Xaquin is a visual journalist and data visualization expert. With a career spanning El Mundo, The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Guardian, he focuses on data visualization for change and narrative automation.
  • Ole Vestergaard: UNEP marine specialist, contributing to international environmental processes. Ole's work focuses on integrating environmental considerations into sustainable development frameworks.
  • Laura Darby: Communications & Branding Consultant for the Marine & Freshwater Branch at UNEP, Laura brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, marine conservation, and project management.
