This is an official side event at the 2025 BRS COPs that will explore the key question: As the digital world evolves rapidly, are we effectively leveraging these advancements to help governments fulfil their commitments to chemical and waste-related SDGs while staying context-sensitive and aligned with national priorities?

This event will, inter alia, demonstrate how the InforMEA Goals section helps visualize MEA contributions to SDGs to ultimately strengthen policy coherence; identify key data gaps in tracking SDG progress on chemicals and waste governance and discuss strategies for improving data collection and availability; foster discussion on how policymakers can enhance reporting, policy alignment, and collaboration through digital tools and legal frameworks; and highlight the role of MEAs in accelerating progress toward SDGs on chemicals and waste by 2030, using data available on InforMEA.

This event is organised by the InforMEA Initiative coordinated by UNEP and is open to all registered delegates participating at the official meetings of the BRS COP
