UNEP is organizing an Air Quality Action Forum (AQAF) roundtable session to explore ways in which citizens and communities can be inspired to undertake actions contributing to the improvement of air quality. The session will seek to establish and enhance a space that will enable environment-friendly behaviours to be self-sustainable and will strengthen social networks in support of that.
The session aims to identify effective and concrete approaches to building awareness by involving young changemakers and other leaders.
Elements from the Mission LiFE, an initiative that was announced by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), will be used in guiding the roundtable discussion, particularly on the following:
- Individual actions that one can take
- Awareness of individual actions
- Challenges and solutions for sustained individual actions
- Sustained individual actions with the support of AQAF
The session will engage with various stakeholders to identify and promote actions that will help improve India's air quality.
