UNEP’s International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO), alongside UNDP and with funding from the European Union, will host a workshop on “Supporting Activities for Methane Assessment and Mitigation in Libya.”
It is specifically designed to equip employees of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) with the essential knowledge and skills needed to begin to identify and implement strategic methane reporting and mitigation measures.
During this training, IMEO and international partners will deliver tailored content to strengthen participants' capacity to address methane emissions mitigation and lay the foundation for a robust and permanent data collection system in accordance with OGMP 2.0 requirements. The training will aim to extend knowledge to stakeholders in Libya and will leverage the in-person meetings to reinforce the value of engaging with UNEP’s Methane Alert and Response System and OGMP 2.0 membership.
