United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Malawi Environmental Protection Authority (MEPA) will be hosting a training on how to conduct Integrated Environmental Assessments (IEA), in preparation for the eventual production of a National Environment Outlook (NEO) for Malawi from 19-21 March 2024.
The training on conducting Integrated Environmental Assessments is planned at the Umodzi Park Hotel and Conference Centre will to aim educate participants on UNEP’s approach for preparing integrated environmental assessments such as the Global Environment Outlook. The main areas covered by the training will include: an overview of the GEO approach to conducting an IEA, how this approach can be modified and applied at the national level, using data and indicators in the IEA, assessing environmental trends and the impact of policies, scenario development and analysis and finally creating a communications and impact strategy for the assessment.
