UNEP West Asia is hosting a mentorship program for the 7 winning brands of Fashion Trust Arabia under the framework of the West Asia Sustainable Fashion Accelerator.  Focused on Future-Proofing brands through the integration of sustainable and circular design solutions, the mentorship, will benchmark the Brands and Retailers stakeholder annex of UNEP’s Sustainability and Circularity in the Textile Value Chain: A Global Roadmap report.
 
The workshop will be delivered by international industry professionals representing different stages of the value chain and will help participants identify the key priorities and actions needed from designers to drive their practices towards improved impact. Key Topics include: Product Traceability, Sustainable Fashion Communication, Circular Design & Innovation, Ethical Sourcing and Generative AI.  
 
Impact and Outreach 
 
The expected impact of this collaboration is the following:
- Awareness raising on the topic of sustainable fashion and textiles with a regional touch (challenges and opportunities)
- Shifting mindsets focusing on the behavioral change component
- Contributing to relevant initiatives such as the Green Jobs for Youth Pact
- Highlighting the importance of sustainability in the local fashion industry and the implementation of circularity, emphasizing the notion that it doesn't have to incur additional costs to be sustainable
- Communicating about sustainability in a creative and attractive approach that is relevant to the target audience notably the youth segment
