During the Eleventh Conference of Parties #NCCOP11 to the Nairobi Convention in Madagascar in August 2024, a 10-year Integrated Programme and a Programme of Work (2025-2028) were approved to tackle pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss. These decisions support global commitments like Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement. In October 2024, Tanzania hosted meetings to start implementing these decisions, inviting partners to collaborate. The Integrated Programme focuses on regional coordination for sustainable governance. To advance these goals, the Nairobi Convention Secretariat is organizing meetings to validate action plans, approve workplans, and strategize on funding and implementation for the 2025-2028 Programme of Work.
