GEF mitigation unit projects march 2025

Our Climate Change Mitigation experts have supported the implementation of close to USD 530 million worth GEF funds through 171 projects across more than 110 countries to date.

Our current portfolio includes 89 ongoing projects across more than 107 countries with USD 292 million GEF funds.

The Unit provides technical support to countries to develop projects using their GEF funds in the Climate Change Mitigation. Countries are free to use their allocation to develop standalone projects or join other countries within a wider Programme.
