Stakeholders are crucial to the GEO process and have specific roles highlighted below. The importance of actively involving key stakeholders in the GEO process is to allow for a variety of views to be included in the key documents related to GEO and in the report itself.
The major groups involved in the GEO process are from the scientific and technological community, farmers, indigenous people and their communities, children and youth, women and business and industry.
