Indonesia: Collaborating on oceans and beyond

My mission to Indonesia focused on greater collaboration with the Government of Indonesia on oceans, marine pollution, tropical peatlands and green growth.

My mission to Indonesia focused on greater collaboration between UN Environment and the Government of Indonesia on oceans, marine pollution, tropical peatlands and green growth.

The Government of Indonesia is committed to reducing 70 percent of marine plastic debris by 2025 and will be the host of the fifth Our Ocean Conference 2018. It is an important opportunity to advance financing and management of coral reefs. The Conference will also provide an opportunity to launch the new Plastics Economy Global Commitment, aimed at generating innovation and engagement on up-stream change to address the plastics challenge.

Indonesia has set an excellent example for the world in managing tropical peatlands and has much to share with the world.
