Biography

Born in Nepal, Nimsdai had a distinguished 16-year military career, of which he spent six years as a Gurkha and 10 years with the UK Special Forces (SBS). He has since become a highly influential and truly iconic mountaineer, revered by his peers and wider audiences alike. With 14/7 Challenge, he broke the World Record for the fastest time to climb all 14 of the ‘Death Zone’ peaks in just 6 months and 6 days – the previous record was 7 years. Nimsdsi also led the all-Nepalese team that completed the last great mountaineering challenge – summitting the ‘Savage Mountain’ K2 in winter 2021. Nimsdai, together with his co-directors, runs Elite Exped, helping people to achieve their new possible on the Big Mountains. In 2021 he launched the Nimsdai Foundation, committed to protecting and restoring the sacred mountains of his homeland. The first mission is the Big Mountain Cleanup.
