Biography

Yoshie Fujiyama joined UN Environment International Environmental Technology Centre in July 2018. The area of her work includes climate change, gender and waste management in West Asia and Small Island Developing States. Previously she worked at UN Environment New York Office from 2016 to 2018, being engaged with UN inter-agency policy coordination and the inter-governmental negotiations on various topics including environment and migration, human rights, gender, climate change, environment and humanitarian affairs and disaster risk reductions.

Prior to joining the UN Environment, Yoshie worked at UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna for environment management, and at UNIDO Tokyo Office for promotion of investment and environmental technology transfer to developing countries, particularly to the South Asian countries.

A Japanese national, Yoshie holds a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainable Development, Development Planning Unit, University College London (UCL).
