Compassion towards people and the planet is an ethical virtue, while complacency doing nothing to protect our life support system could be considered as a sin. Business as usual is not an option in the wake of the complexity of the environmental issues we are facing today. We have a moral and spiritual obligation toward future generations to inherit a livable planet and not calamities we caused.
It is indeed critical that we adopt religious and environmental ethics to change our consumptive behaviors for us to live in harmony with nature and for the next generations to enjoy a healthy planet. It is with this background, Faith for Earth with the partners in Iceland have held "Our Sacred Commitment" strategic discussions.
