The purpose of the networking facility is to manage the knowledge generated by SWITCH Africa Green and to facilitate the exchange of information and best practices, both within the programme and between it and other related programmes, projects and initiatives at the national, regional and global levels. This is achieved through activities that foster networking and communication among the grant projects and countries. Knowledge is distilled from the implementation of the programme’s green business development and policy support components for upscaling, wider replication, sharing of best practices and facilitation of policy uptake by a wide range of government actors.
Activities under the networking facility component combine the expertise and network of the United Nations Environment Programme, the African Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production, the Global Network for Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production and other institutions that support sustainable consumption and production in Africa. It also draws on related activities and information under the European Union’s SWITCH to Green flagship initiative and the One Planet Network and its programmes.
