Preparations for the UNEA-6 Ministerial Declaration were initiated through a letter from the UNEA President, dated 05 May 2023. With the letter, the UNEA President circulated the zero draft of the ministerial declaration and invited Member States and Stakeholders to share initial ideas and inputs on a Ministerial Declaration by 31 May 2023, in accordance with the Roadmap sent on the 4 May 2023.
The UNEA President circulated a letter with the first draft of the ministerial declaration on the 17 August 2023 and called for input by the 15 September 2023.
On 31 October 2023, the UNEA President circulated a letter with the second draft of the ministerial declaration.
On 29 December 2023, the UNEA President circulated a letter with the final draft of the ministerial declaration.
On 15 February 2024, the UNEA President circulated a letter with the revised final draft of the ministerial declaration.
On 27 February 2024, the UNEA President circulated a letter with the revised final draft of the ministerial declaration.
