The Transforming Tourism for Climate Action event will see policy makers discuss the strategic approaches needed for transforming the tourism sector and embracing a low-carbon pathway. The report Transport-related emissions of the tourism sector – Modelling results will also be released during the side-event.
The event is part of the activities of the One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme and is organized by UNWTO, in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme and the governments of France and Spain. Among the confirmed speakers are Ms. Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC and Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General, UNWTO.
