• Overview
  • Convenors and Programme

Recovering resources, including nutrients, from wastewater is an effective way to tackle several issues related to sustainable development. However, the effectiveness of this solution depends on building blocks such as governance, financing, human, technical and institutional capacity, as well as awareness raising. The side event aims to discuss the challenges and opportunities of recovering nutrients from wastewater as well as ways to scale up solutions for sustainable wastewater and nutrient management. It will also draw the attention of the audience to practical examples by institutions working to address them through innovative financial and practical solutions on the ground. The event aims to generate synergies among actors involved in this sector and enhance collaboration especially between financial institutions, governments, UN agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. The event will be held online only, Wednesday 23 August 2023, 9:30-10:00 AM Stockholm time.  Register for the event at: worldwaterweek.org/tickets and look for Session ID 10945.
