8th Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific will be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, from 9-12 April 2018. The Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific was launched in 2009 in Tokyo, Japan with the objective of integrating the 3Rs in policy, planning and development. The forum provides a strategic platform for sharing best practices in 3R areas, including new and emerging issues of concern in waste management. Established in 1971 the UNCRD is based on an agreement between the Government of Japan and the United Nations.
Pre-event starts from 9 April 2018 on Monday and the main forum sessions start from 10 to 12 April.

Keith Alversion, Director for the International Environmental Technology Centre, will provide a keynote speech on "Efforts of Government of India in cleaning the rivers" and facilitate the plenary session 5: 3R for Protection of Coastal and Marine Ecosystem.
In the session 5, he will give a presentation on "Integrating 3R principles and strategies with measures for the protection of coastal and marine ecosystem from land based activities."
Three representatives from UN Environment will be participating the forum.
