Today IETC launched its Annual Report 2019 on the IETC website as well as in print.
The report highlights the centre’s achievements in 2019, all of which are carrying out United Nations Environment Programme’s programme of work. Included in these are recent knowledge products published by the centre on incineration technologies, electronic waste and gender aspects of waste management, and illustrate how good practices are being deployed in countries around the world. Furthermore, our promotion of Environmentally Sound Practices and outreach activities are also included in the report.
“Waste has become a ubiquitous sight in our environment. … Given the growing amount, complexity and visibility of waste, proper waste management is more crucial now than ever. The work carried out by the UNEP International Environmental Technology Centre in Osaka, with support and cooperation of its partners, is therefore more relevant than ever. ... IETC, together with the rest of UNEP, is working to change attitudes towards waste.” Keith Alverson, Director IETC
