United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Executive Director Inger Andersen reflects on the negotiations underway at the second meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-2) from 29 May to 2 June 2023 in Paris, France.
Countries tasked UNEP with convening and managing the INC process.
“We have to end plastic pollution. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This is a once-in-a-planet opportunity,” Inger Andersen said. “We’ve got to see progress, we’ve got to see ambition. Let’s get it done because we can and because we are on this planet together.”
