Bruno Pozzi

Deputy Director, Ecosystems Division

Biography

Mr. Bruno Pozzi is the Deputy Director of the Ecosystems Division of the UN Environment Programme. He previously served as the UNEP Regional Director for Europe based in Geneva, covering 54 countries in the pan European region and the EU.

As a career diplomat, Bruno has over 20 years’ experience of international relations, diplomacy and politics and has worked across three different continents in a range of political, environmental and economic roles.

Bruno’s approach to multilateralism is shaped by three core convictions: First, is that the environment is an inherently political subject that sits at the heart of multilateralism. Second, is that sustainable development, peace and prosperity cannot be achieved without the centering of environmental considerations in development and socio-economic policies; and third, is the firm belief that economic transformation and innovation can, and must, be leveraged as key drivers of a sustainable future for all.
