“Rethinking Environmental Education for Sustainable Development”

The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador and UNEP, welcomed directors of environmental education, education specialists, and representatives of university networks dedicated to sustainability. Good practices and experiences on environmental education were exchanged, such as a strengthened support to local governments, and south-south cooperation. “Dialogues on Environmental Education in Latin America and the Caribbean”
August 6-9, 2018
The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment of Uruguay and UNEP, helped to strengthen the network, evaluate the progress, and plan new milestones. The list of environmental education priorities in the region was established, with a focus on experiences linked to the contribution of environmental education to biodiversity conservation, and the development of sustainable lifestyles. In this meeting, countries prepared the Recommendations of the focal points of the Environmental Training Network to the XXI Meeting of the Forum of Ministers of Environment. See more.
