PROVIA and its related Activities
- Adaptation and Resilience - We work with governments to help them integrate climate change into national policies and development strategies. We also help countries identify new ways to adapt to climate change.
- Climate and Clean Air Coalition - We unite governments, civil society and businesses committed to improving air quality and protecting the climate.
- Climate finance - Climate finance refers to local, national or transnational financing, which may be drawn from public, private and alternative sources of financing.
- Climate Technology Centre and Network - We promote the accelerated transfer of environmentally sound technologies for low-carbon and climate-resilient development.
- Mitigation - We help countries transition to renewable energy sources, adopt energy efficiency measures, reduce air pollution, and access clean energy finance.
- REDD+ (Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation) - The Paris Climate Agreement recognizes the central role of forests in achieving the goal of keeping temperatures well below 2°C through mitigation options that aim to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. To date, 118 countries have included forestry and land use measures as part of their pledges in their Nationally Determined Contributions. This represents 162 million hectares of restored, reforested and afforested land, which is in line with the Bonn Challenge and the New York Declaration on Forests.
