Green Jobs for Youth

Co-created by UNEP, UNICEF, and ILO, this bold new pact aims to equip every young person with the green skills and jobs needed to actively contribute to—and thrive in—a just transition for all.

The Green Jobs for Youth Pact led by ILO, UNEP and UNICEF promotes green jobs with and for young people around the world  in high impact sectors.

We need to double the size of the green talent pool by 2050 to keep pace with projected demand, according to the Global Green Skills Report produced by LinkedIn, 2024.

The Green Jobs for Youth Pact brings together employers, governments, youth and education partners working towards these objectives by 2030:

Create 1 million new green jobs for youth with a particular focus on young women

Accelerate the greening of 1 million existing jobs

Support 10,000 young entrepreneurs toestablish and/or grow sustainable greenbusinesses, while contributing to thecreation of green jobs for their peers
