The project “South-South Cooperation in Mongolia and Central Asian Countries: Sharing Knowledge on Inclusive Green Economies and Ecological Civilization” supports Mongolia and Central Asian countries in developing research capacity in the area of green investment in the water sector. This project is funded by the Chinese government and consists of four components:
- A six-week fellowship programme at Beijing Normal University, where selected researchers from Central Asian countries and Mongolia complete research projects related to green investment in the water sector.
- A high level policy roundtable on Green Economy pathways and the approach of Ecological Civilization that will bring together officials from participating governments, research institutions, and international organizations.
- An expert workshop, at which policy makers, researchers, and green businesses will discuss green investment in the water sector in Central Asia and Mongolia.
- A substantive summary report on green investment in the region, based on the discussions in the workshop and the research undertaken by the participants of the fellowship programme.
