Happy International Women’s Day!
This year, International Women's Day celebrates the women and girls who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation and response and honors their leadership and contributions towards a sustainable future.
IETC recently released an introduction video to its GENDER AND WASTE NEXUS video series, which introduces voices of women and men from Bhutan, Mongolia and Nepal on the issues of gender in waste management and women’s empowerment in the waste sector. The video series is now available in 5 languages on IETC’s YouTube channel.
Given the limited availability of gender materials that are focused on specific waste streams, IETC is now developing gender mainstreaming materials specifically on plastic waste and e-waste, respectively. Outreach materials on the nexus between gender and waste management in Tunisia are also to be released this year. Stay tuned!
