Circular waste management is a priority for West Asia 17 - 18 September 2024, Manama, Bahrain - A two-day technical meeting focused on extended producer responsibility (EPR) was held in Manama, bringing together participants from government authorities responsible for waste management across the West Asia region.
June 2023, UNEP International Environment Technology Centre celebrated World Environment Day by hosting a webinar and an event with Kaiyukan Aquarium in Osaka, Japan. The event aimed to raise awareness, inspire action, and mobilize individuals and organizations towards a zero-waste society.
October 30, 2022 - the United Nations Environment Programme and Kaiyukan Aquarium hold a joint event "Only One Earth - Save our oceans, our irreplaceable planet" in Osaka.
This year, UNEP-IETC is celebrating its 30th anniversary since the establishment in 1992.

A new video on marine plastic pollution by Osaka City is now available on their Youtube Channel.
Osaka, a host city of the G20 summit held in June 2019, created a video that explains the current issue of marine plastic litter. It also introduces Japanese technologies and products that are contributing to pollution reduction for the sustainable future.
