The Jordanian Royal Scientific Society hosted a 4-day workshop in Amman from 16-19 July to develop a stakeholder-driven project concept for submission to a climate finance donor, focused on GHG mitigation in the transport sector.

The workshop brought together officials from the Ministries of Environment, Planning, and Local Administration, as well as representatives from the Municipality of Amman, Madaba and Greater Irbid. Representatives from the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund also participated in the event.

The overall objectives of the 3-day working session were two-fold 1) for key actors to share information on plans related to a national Blended Finance Mechanism for solar irrigation systems, solar dryers and agroforestry in Uganda; 2) to agree on how to collaborate and consolidate technical resources and proposals for impact, where the NDC Action Project can both convene and lead multi-stakeholder efforts.
