UN Member States will gather virtually this February 22-23 for the Fifth Session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5). This is the world’s top environmental decision-making body attended by government leaders, businesses, civil society and environmental activists.
“Unlike the coronavirus, nature, climate and pollution crises cannot be stopped by a vaccine. Leaders across the world must gather to push for action,”
It’s a critical meeting: the planet is in crisis and nature must be at the heart of global efforts to build back better after the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, two Leadership Dialogues sessions will be held on the theme: "Contribution of the environmental dimension of sustainable development to building a resilient and inclusive post-pandemic world."
