Resolution 5/2 on Sustainable nitrogen management, operative paragraph 3(d), requested the Executive Director, to invite Member States to nominate focal points to join the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Working Group on Nitrogen, which was established pursuant to the UNEA resolution 4/14 also entitled Sustainable nitrogen management.
In a letter dated 30 August 2022 the Executive Director of UNEP, Ms. Inger Andersen, invited Member States to designate a focal point to the UNEP Working Group on Nitrogen. Focal points are expected to participate in the meetings of the Working Group and serve as contact point between UNEP and their country.
Member States who have not yet designated a focal point are kindly invited to do so via a note verbale to the UNEP secretariat. Please communicate any new focal points, changes or omissions to: unep-nitrogenworkinggroup[at]un.org
