United Nations Environment Assembly: represents the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment, culminates in resolutions and a global call to action to address the critical environmental challenges facing the world today. UNEA enjoys the universal membership of all 193 UN Member States and the full involvement of major groups and stakeholders. With this wide reach into the legislative, financial and development arenas, UNEA provides a groundbreaking platform for leadership on global environmental policy.
The Greenroom/Civil Society Tent: The Greenroom is a dedicated space for Major Groups and Stakeholders attending the Sessions of the United Nations Environment Assemblies to hold side events, thematic cluster events, bilateral meetings and daily briefing sessions with a view of sharing experiences and increasing opportunities for informal dialogue.
The Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF) which prepares and facilitates Major Groups and Stakeholders’ participation in the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UNEP and associated meetings.
Regional Consultative Meetings and Multi-Stakeholder consultative meetings: These are meetings of representatives of major groups and stakeholders from the six UNEP regions. Each region engages in a substantive dialogue on environmental issues that will be discussed during the next United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UNEP and produces a statement on the main themes of UNEA including from a regional perspective.
Relevant meetings and workshops held under a specific substantive focus in partnership with UN Environment and relevant partners from civil society stakeholders.
