Colombia was one of the first countries in Latin America to adopt the use of ecolabels in 2005 with the aim of helping consumers make sustainable choices.
UNEP, with financial support from the European Union, has strengthened the eco-labeling structure in Colombia, and today, the ecolabel, a has been awarded to 77 companies ranging from tourism to construction, and it is part of an effort to facilitate the transition towards a circular economy.
